This entitled idiot. It has always been working for the majority of the people. This only happened twice though. I know this might be hard to grasp, but if you purchase a product from a company, with the claim that it delivers a certain experience, you are in fact entitled to that experience. Not a bonus. Thousands of the user demographic use Alienware computers and deserve the slice of cake they paid for, too. Expecting Valve to fix a known bug sooner than three years later… I clearly deserved to have some incredibly brave, anonymous internet warrior call me names for that.

This new FIX has been nothing short of a major headache for me. Valve cannot figure it out but on the Index ONLY not my Vive the sound will cut out in the middle of a game and crash the game. It never confused Steam and I never had audio issues with the Vive. You contradict yourself within the space of two sentences… Your lack of self-awareness is genius.

It turns out the Nvidia driver applies -6 at pre amplification. And both a Vive and Rift.

I never thought it would be fixed because I thought I was very much in the minority…. Careful, or RealTalk up there will call you an entitled idiot for having problems and daring wanting them fixed… :b. Who knows- comments area, it generally goes toxic…!I was initially using Voicemeeter Banana to do my audio mirroring, but found a very noticeable lag which made this solution far from ideal.

I was aware that SteamVR's audio mirroring worked great, but thought it only worked with games launched via Steam.

I was wrong. Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I hadn't seen anything and the search pulled up nothing. It also has a "repeater" app that will "listen" on that input and duplicate it on any output you'd like.

Audio Mirroring is referring to getting your desktop speakers to output the same sound as your Rift. This is important when you have someone trying to watch you play on your monitor. Without Audio mirroring, they don't get any sound.

I saw a rumor that the next Oculus Home update will add Audio mirroring, but who knows when that's coming. Ah yeah, you could, but it's more for things like piping audio out from one program to a mic input on another program.

But, you could easily just output the same audio to two devices. This sounds a little fishy. Stepping outside of Facebook's protective ecosystem? He could get virus' and be hacked by people on the deep webz. What is he even doing messing with SteamVR for, it seems he's the hacker! Please OP.

Yeah, I have had weird issues like this as well. At the end of the day we have 3 different programs trying to dictate which of the 4 sound devices we should use at any given moment and they just can not agree sometimes.

I found it is just best to tell the programs to mind it's own damn business and I will decide what and when to change. If that means I have to change the device myself on occasion, so be it.
